Step 1. Your Needs and Desires
I ask that you accumulate a collection of notes, pictures, and/or sketches that will help convey your needs and desires to me (Houzz.com is a great resource).
Step 2. Free Consultation
During this consultation, I will review all the pertinent information regarding your project and help define and/or refine your priorities. I will also advise you as to the feasibility of the project in regards to timeline, investment, and other expectations. For most clients, understanding the investment needed and defining what that includes, is a top priority. From our discussions and project review, I will establish an appropriate “Investment” for your specific project. This bracket will be comprehensive of the preliminary scope of work, product ideas, and other project priorities that were identified earlier. At this consultation I will also be taking measurements of the space.
Step 3. Establish Your Budget
After spending an hour together, I will have a good feel for your project and what it will entail to bring it to reality. Likewise, you will have a better understanding of the ability and value that I can offer you. If you feel confident that working with me is a good fit for your project that you are considering, the next step would require a design retainer that is based on the size and complexity of the project.
Step 4. Design Your Space As Well As Organizing A Design Agreement
In order to produce the designs and estimate, I must create a design agreement for your project. This may include cabinet, electrical, plumbing, amongst any additional design considerations along with going shopping for the products for your project. All products that are used in the project must also be specified for the estimate and followed by a detailed “Scope of Work” that will be developed to coincide with your Design Agreement.
Step 5. Presentation and Formulated Scope of Work
After selecting the products for your project I will schedule with you a presentation time, At this presentation, there will be design drawings of your project and specifically selected products that coordinate with the overall design. In conjunction, there will be a composed “Scope of Work” that which describes in detail the work to be performed along with preliminary cost figures. From there, I will collaboratively modify the design, product selection, and scope of work in order to achieve both the desired look as well as the budget for your project; this refining typically involves one to four meetings after our initial presentation depending on the scope of your project, as the details are far too imperative to rush.
Step 6. Contract Signing and Deposit
After the design, product selection, and scope of work have been determined, a final contract document, specifically stating these items produced. At this time, a deposit is collected all product is scheduled for ordering and your project is assigned a projected date for installation.
Step 7. Pre-Construction Meeting
Within a few week after signing your contract I will meet with you at your home for a Pre-Construction Meeting. At this time, job site details such as product delivery, home access, job site protection, as well as scheduling will be discussed. This meeting also provides an opportunity for my Project Manager to see the jobsite and determine any special needs and or details prior to the commencement of your project.
Step 8. Work Begins
This is the working phase of the project. The length of this phase can vary from a few days to a few months depending on the size and scope of your project. Throughout this phase, you will become very well acquainted with our personable in-house craftsman. You will also see your Project Manager and myself stop by at frequent intervals to assure all the details are carried out as planned.
Step 9. Project Completion
During this phase of the project, all the details and remaining items come together to complete the finished and desired look. At this time, increased job site visits and effective communication help bring the project to a close in a timely manner.
Step 10. Final Jobsite Review
The final step in our process is when I perform a final jobsite review to ensure that everything has turned out as planned and that you are completely satisfied with the outcome, as I pride ourselves on superior quality of the renovation of your interior or exterior project to absolute atonement. With your permission, I will also take photos of your completed project to help inspire other homeowners who are embarking down the remodeling road; conveying the process is simple and enjoyable.
