Being born and raised in the Midwest, I have found that it has taught me and given a lot of great values of life. From being able to understand in most cases what my clients are asking for to being open to new lessons. Since being in Arizona since 2002 I have seen so many different styles and unique techniques in design that it has taken my design flexibility to the next level of uniqueness and style.
My career path did not start off as wanting to design interiors or even remodel houses; it all started in high school with architectural classes that were more mechanically inclined than architectural based. When it was time for college I pursued a career as an architect, but it was after completing three years of architectural classes, that I realized I was not experiencing the passion of design by being an architect. While still taking classes, I found that passion I was searching for as an interior designer. I completed my schooling at Harrington Institute of Interior Design in downtown Chicago. It was a wonderful school in a city that holds a lot of history and great design trends.
Upon completion of my Bachelor degree, I went out into the design world looking for the right balance of design and interactions with clients, from working with great some great design firms until I found my niche in the remodeling of kitchen and bathrooms, which then led me to space planning, entertainment centers, additions and whole house remodels. As I began to work in this field, it came quite naturally to design spaces that had energy that flows.
My work focuses on kitchen, bath and whole house design because I have a love for technical details, and I am drawn to creating designs for all areas of the house. When they are all put together they all flow, and when rooms are properly planned, they invite you to work, play, and create within them.
Design Theory
It is important that you feel good about your living space.
There are times when we choose our home or property based on location. Perhaps it’s not the house we had in mind, but you can see the potential for making it a place you call “home”.
My responsibility as your designer is to create a space for your family that works for your lifestyle. This can involve minor or major changes that can enhance your kitchen, bathroom, family room or about any room in the house by creating an open, inviting space.
The functionality of each of these rooms is important and as a designer, I follow the theory of form follows function with each and every project. In addition, because every space in your home should be beautiful, every wall has a focal point and never meaning to be overwhelming, my personal goal is to excite you and your visitors to your beautiful spaces.
